Many people know that The Beatles were formed by four musicians - John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison. Some people know about Tony Sheridan, Brian Epstein or Yoko Ono. And no one knows as much about The Beatles as I do. No, I'm just kidding 'cause no one knows everything. But I will try to show facts that were hidden from most eyes. First something about the members of the most famous group ever. Here comes :
John Winston Lennon was born on October 9 1940 in Liverpool, England. His childhood was not too good for his parents got divorced when he was only three years old. His father, Fred Lennon, tried to get little John off his mother's influence after she refused to resume living with him. After this his mother Julia thought that she didn't give John the best she could so she sent him to his aunt. So he lived with auntie Mimi and uncle George in Woolton, many kilometers from Liverpool. His mother Julia died in 1958 in a car crash.
Little John didn't like the school too much. He hated the discipline and the teachers who always abused him. If a trouble appeared, John did it. He got a best friend in school, though. His name was Pete Shotton. They togehter stole toys in shops, broke the windows and threw stones at trains that passed by. John was happy to be a gangleader and fought often other schoolboys. The headmaster thought of them as of the worst pupils they'd ever had...
John's future didn't appear much interesting until Mimi got the headmaster of the Quarrybank school to write a letter of recommendation for John to the Liverpool Art College, because of his drawings. Here he heard the Heartbreak Hotel by Elvis Presley. From this day the music was his greatest hobby. John persuaded Mimi to buy a guitar for him, although she told him he would never get anywhere with it...
John started his first group in 1955. They called themselves The Quarrymen, 'cause their's school's name was The Quarry Bank School. John played his guitar while Pete used the washboard. Later they got more members into their group - Colin Hanton (he owned a drumset), Nigel Walley and Ivan Vaughan - the rest of John's gang. They played skiffle. But John wanted to play RnR as Elvis or Bill Harley did. He learned the songs by listening to the radio. The Quarrymen appeared at youth houses and schoolparties and sometimes the spectators started to fight cause they didnt like their music... It was Ivan Vaughan who introduced John to his friend, Paul McCartney, in 1957.
Later and already with Paul, they formed group named The Beetles. There were four people in the group - Lennon, McCartney, Pete Best and Tony Sheridan. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
"My whole school life was a case of 'I couldn't care less'. It was just a joke as far as I was concerned. Art was the only thing I could do, and my headmaster told me that if I didn't go to art school I might as well give up life. I wasn't really keen. I thought it would be a crowd of old men, but I should make the effort and make something of myself. I stayed for five years doing commercial art. Frankly, I found it all as bad as maths and science. And I loathed those. The funny thing was I didn't even pass art in the GCE. I spent the exam time doing daft cartoons. I got into art school by doing some decent stuff and taking it along to show them." -Lennon
"My mother said that World War II. started because I was born" -Lennon
"The people in cheaper places, club your hands. The rest of you, rattle your jewelery." -Lennon
